Vampires Do It In The Dark

OK, so that is pretty lame. But there's something awfully sexy about vampires. And they lend themselves very well to erotic romance. Which brings me to my latest endeavor, a novella-length erotic vampire tale intended for an upcoming anthology by several of the ladies of The Erotic Romance Workshop. This is a great group of writers dedicated to erotic romance (like that wasn't evident!)and they have already penned the successful anthologies, Goin' Down, parts one and two, and have now devised with the wickedly sinful idea of an erotic vampire anthology - all vampires, all the time. What could be better?

It's a delicious idea. But so many great vampire tales - where to begin? Something dark, dangerous, heart-poundingly good with breathtaking moments of lust steaming up the pages? Or a wickedly funny take on the undead, with orgasms aplenty? But no, despite the appeal, I have settled on my tale - that of a woman with her own unique qualities Eliza Borden - don't call me Lizzie - is am empath who works the night shift in the emergency room helping the doctors diagnose those touch-and-go cases, who runs afoul of an inner-city vampire turf war, ending up under the protection, and in the bed, of powerful Master Vampire, Lucian Tremayne. The snarky Ms. Borden wants no part of the immortal master of seduction, but somehow keeps finding herself in his arms.

And for his part Lucian has never wanted a human companion who gives the term life-partner a whole new meaning. But the delectable Ms. Borden, who nearly lost her life saving one of his own, seems to sneak into his thoughts at the oddest times. And when she's beneath him in the throes of passion, his long, long lifetime of stoic solitude is suddnely a thing of the past.

So now I'm off on a madcap whirl - into the alternate reality of a very real New York City, and into the minds and hearts of two people who will need to rely on each other for happiness, sexual satisfaction that can hurt so good - and quite possibly their lives!

I'll be sure to keep you posted!

Dark Dreams.

What evil lurks in the hearts of men?

Hard to say. It is dark out. The rain drips down, steadily and inexorably. There was a sound before. A gutteral, grunting sound. What creatures prowl the dank, damp night? Is there a world that we of the daylight do not know? Where the bent and wizened travel and commune?

The tales tell of gnomes and dwarves, elves and gypsies. Giants and monsters, vampires, werewolves, and demons of hell.

Have you seen one? What was that flashing in the corner of your eye tonight as you slid the key into the lock and let yourself into the safety of your house?

Beware. You may not see them.

But they are out there.

What's Your Favorite Monster?

Romance novels these days - and don't get me wrong, I'm a romance author and I embrace all genres - seem focused on the weres and the vamps. But I'm noticing an influx of devils, demons, gargoyles, incubi, succubi, gods and dreamers, angels and dragons and it's all good.

I've been happy to see that whenever the genre starts to head into the territory of tired, tried and true - some funky author comes up with another twist on the old standard. Had enough of the brooding vamps? Let's have a Vegas Vamp with a sense of bling and humor. Had enough of the dark and dangerous female heroine of the night? How about a lonely Succubus?

This is what makes the genre great. New ideas. New blood (sorry). New heroes and heroines.

I have to give a round of applause to the ladies (OK, OK, and I'm sure there's a gent or two out there writing .... Jim Butcher notwithstanding) who won't knuckle under when they hear the words "paranormal is fading". Or fantasy is passe. Or occult is done. Or the vampire novel is losing ground.

Does the expression, "takes a licking and keeps on ticking" mean anything?

Keep up the good work, ladies!

There's no such thing as too many paranormal/fantasy/occult novels - especially when you look at the real world around you! Trust me - there's nothing like escaping the everyday world with a little apocalyptic mayhem and armageddon madness!

Welcome to my imaginary world.

Who lives here?

Anyone that you can imagine.

Do you dream of a vampire lover? Or a gargoyle empath? A shapeshifting boyfriend? A fallen angel adversary?

You will meet them all here. In my mind. As I create the worlds of fantasy and thrills and chills and fright.

Stop by from time to time and see what I have wrought.
